Time flies! Happy 5th anniversary, JB Operations Centre!

Time flies! Week of 16 May 2018 - This week marks an important milestone for our JB office as we celebrate our 5th year anniversary in Southeast Asia. Through thick and thin, we are thankful to have a great bunch of colleagues who have been there for us.., stood by us.., with each and everyone putting in relentless support in their day to day job as we continue raising the bar, and for driving service excellence for our business partners in Southeast Asia region through warm service and innovation. We took the opportunity to celebrate and rekindle our corporate values Gung Ho! to the team, through a series of celebration emails, posters and milestone gift, recognizing how all these efforts are being deeply appreciated and how our colleagues day to day roles and contributions help in shaping up the organization of whom we are today. What a week in JB! "Wellness@Work"

23-27 April 2018 – Getting Fit! Feel Great! JB office had a multi-faceted Wellness@Work week-long campaign with various activities being held throughout the week. COO, Mr Simon Kung started off the campaign by sharing encouraging words with the team on good health and fitness, with sincere hope for the team to take this step towards leading a healthier and active lifestyle. Without further delay, the launch was followed by a 20 minutes energetic fitness dance at the floor led by professional fitness instructor Lovely Gitaruelas. On this launch day, each of the employees received a fitness launch bag consisting of a speed rope and a fitness booklet. The rest of the week was followed by various daily wellness-themed activities – Firstly is the continuation of morning fitness workout led by our very own colleagues, followed by Fresh Fruits…, Vitamin C Day.. and Beauty Wellness Session! After the series of activities, towards the end of the week, by popular demand, we had a Skipping Rope contest whereby May-Ann emerged as the Skipping Rope Queen!!! And 3 lucky quiz winners walked away with cool fitness gadgets. The campaign was complimented by active sharing of daily tips on healthy eating and lifestyle. What a week!!! We hope to make it a fun and energetic culture to start off the day!

Sunday, Feb 4, 2018 –Our JB team celebrated the site 5th annual party at Amari Hotel Johor Bahru this year. The team were all dressed up to the nines in Aloha skirts and flower headbands, all geared for a fun-filled evening at the Hawaiian themed Dinner and Dance. Embrace 2017 Dawn of the Year of the Rooster

Wish we have best fortune in the beginning of the year. Good news in this "Year of the Rooster”. May things go as you wish. May everything go smoothly. Good fortune, emolument (official salary), longevity and happiness. This Lunar New Year, aside from celebrating it with my daughter, we were also have been invited by friends to visit Mt. Fuji -- a world heritage In New Year's Eve, we jaunt in JR Fujikyu line shifting us to Kawaguchi Railway Station which is popular for the scenic view of "Fuji Five Lakes" known for its abundant fun attractions. But today, we are not to take the night off of here. Instead, we will be heading to the farthest and most accessible lake amongst five -- "Lake Motosu" Lake Motosu is known for its beautiful scenery. The view of Mt. Fuji from this lake can be seen in the ¥1,000 Japanese bill. The driver have been waiting for us when we arrive the station. As soon as we get in the car, we immediately headed to my friend's residence next to Lake Motosu. While on our way, the driver cheerfully shared to us in Japanese some fun facts about this sacred mountain. Yet, somehow he pitied Mt. Fuji. He said "In recent two years, the snow is lesser. Unlike in the past years, the mountain is deeply covered by snow". I guess the effects of global warming causes it. Despite the mountain only being half covered by the snow, In my opinion it is still charmingly beautiful seeing it next to Lake Motosu. Mt. Fuji's majestic landscape reflecting through the blue lake represents the Japanese spirit. In such a cold weather, my friend initially plan to just quietly stay with me and enjoy the beauty of the mountain but I heard that both Mt. Fuji and the lake is most beautiful during the first flush of the morning. To avoid any regret, we woke up at 3 A.M. to see the first daybreak of the Year of the Golden Rooster with the exact mirror view of Mt. Fuji as seen in the ¥1,000 Japanese bill. At 3:30 A.M. of New Year's day, I was riding my friend's bike while wearing a down jacket, an extra thick plumage coat from my friend, and two pairs of thick gloves. Under the frigid climate, everybody was going against the starry sky on their bicycles; slowly embarking a detour of the lake. However, the delightful fruit of labor is absolutely impossible to attain without effort... The mountain is static, the lake is even -, but, the road is steep, the wind is piercing, my hand is stiff, my legs are shaking, and I can't hardly open my eyes... There are moments when I feel like I can't hold it any longer. In order to get close to the goal, in the dark uphill I must focus wholly despite my eyes having to stare the road through the weak headlights, adjusting my hand's grip on the handle from time to time, the leg with a sudden burst, the torso must synchronize with the rhythm of the whole body. In a clear goal, working hard, struggling to move forward - unknowingly was more relaxed. Gains ground suddenly found the weather to fade, before the sunrise, - The well known dawn showed up brightly as white as a fish’s belly. Rough road now become smoother, the dawn shuttle in the lakes lush forests, with an intense exercise after deep breathing, I can feel the pure wash and harmony of nature.A turn, Mt. Fuji is peacefully in front of me. In the lake, the inverted image follows the wave light nodding at me frequently, the dawn of the Lake Motosu as quiet as a child, the beauty of luxury ... the moment before sunrise, the sky has the radiant change occupying the cosmos like a neat colored palette. In a few seconds, the gold year of rooster first dawn projects from the mountain immediately, with gold clean light the night sky!In front of me, it is hard to describe how beautiful it is. I don't know whether it's because of the increase in temperature or is it just the breathtaking beauty? Unexpectedly I can't remember the feeling of the bone-chilling wind and the tiredness of staying up late. It was immediately replaced by the unforgettable view of beautiful sceneries. My heart felt like it was a dream come true. Dear Telexpress colleagues, in 2016 we have experienced many ups and downs - the growth and decline of clients in our Taiwan Operations Center, the cost of rapid growth of the two major clients in China; Huawei and Alibaba, the market of sCRM and Chatbot is under a fierce competition. Breakthrough developments, organizational strategy, hard work in gathering resources and training --Every challenges we face it together and struggle to success. The ups and downs of the year of the monkey have passed. 2017 The year of the Golden Rooster will be full of hope for Telexpress! Enjoy the Lunar Chinese New Year or Spring Festival 2017 in Manila, the Philippines with unique traditions and rituals. Many Filipinos are Tsinoys who are people of mixed Filipino and Chinese heritage. That’s why Chinese New Year is a major holiday in the Philippines. In Hokkien language that most Chinese Filipinos speak, Lunar New Year greeting is Kiong Hee Huat Tsai. That means “Congratulations and Be Prosperous”. Trends from Statistics - Customer Service Requirements in 2016

CQO § Since I started my career in customer service industry, I haven’t felt more excited and nervous than this moment. News and articles state the era of human and robot co-existence leads to the decreasing numbers of professional workers. Technology and innovation keep changing, what will the customer service industry looks like in future? The study of State of Global Customer Service Report 2016 published by Microsoft in June this year which interviewed 5000 interviewees from England, Germany, US, Brazil, Japan shows that any brand and company could not underrate nor ignore the increased of consumers' demand in social media customer service and self-help service as a result of the growth of millennial generation wherein such demand will only get higher and higher. The millennial generation born between 1980 and 2000 are seen as the backbone of the global economy for the next decade. They are born in the Internet age, love new things, accustomed to listening to every piece of the surrounding, believe the power of sharing, and trust to the word of mouth form other users. They do not believe in the brand's one-way marketing strategy, but build their expectation and perspective towards the brand's quality, value, and customer service performance via social media, online browsing and search engine. Microsoft’s report presents the following three (3) points to summarize Millennium's expectations for customer service. Higher expectations ●68% of the millennials have a higher expectation of customer service. (Compared to 56% of all respondents) ●78% of millennials expect the customer service specialists to be aware of their product information and service history when seeking help with the brand. (Compared to 72% of all respondents) ●68% of the millennial generation will not come back to the brand because of a single poor customer service experience (Compared to 60% of all respondents) Self-Service, Mobile and Chat ●The channel for customer service has changed, with 65% of millennials turning customer service interactions online. (Compared to 55% of all respondents) ●36% use mobile devices instead of computers when turning to online channels. (Compared to 28% of all respondents) ●60% of the millennials use live chat. (Compared to 45% of all respondents) ●89% of the millennials used search engines to try to find answers to customer service questions. (Compared to 75% of all respondents) ●84% of millennials use the brand's self-service portal to find solution. (73% of all respondents) ●81% of the millennium generation will be more satisfied to the brand if it provides mobile devices contact channel. (Compared to 66% of all respondents) When asked to use self-service but failed to find the needed information, more than half of the respondents said the top 1 reason is less information online, followed by the knowledge being too messy or not systematically organized. Social media Connections ●47% of Millennials used social media to complain about brand’s customer service. (Compared with 29% of all respondents) ●52% of Millennials used social media to ask questions to customer service. (Compared to 31% of all respondents) ●If wondering brands the brand should invest in social media as a channel for customer service, 64% of Millennials believe that social media is an effective channel for customer service. (Compared to 45% of all respondents) At this point, will you be worried about the changes in customer service? The good news is that in another 2016 Global State of Multichannel Customer Service Report for 4,000 UK, US, Japanese and Brazilian respondents, the consumer preference is still to use the phone when seeking customer service assistance. This channel got the advantage to offer instant, customized, and complex services. To compare with the normal customer (19%), millennials (40%) are more likely to switch to other channels for issue resolution if they do not get any proactive response within an hour. As a customer service provider, we should focus on improving the availability, quality, and knowledge of the self-service platform, empowering the customer service specialist and customer to enhance a service experience which allows a seamless transition in a cross-platform customer touch point. For a customer-centric brand, when the price and product differentiation is getting smaller and smaller, especially in today's global market, a unique and successful customer service culture will become the ultimate weapon for winning and retaining customers.

How do I take care of my team in my way

And this is how i handle and take care of my team. The only way you are going to know what your team needs from you in order to be more successful is to listen to them. Sometimes simply listening can help you to identify ways you can provide what is needed. I listen to their sentiments and objections but explained to them the reasons and the purpose, which always ends up perfectly fine. And all of them are open to share their ideas which help the team to be more productive. My team knows they can come to me at any time with a problem, concern or suggestions and I will hear them out specially if it concerns their attendance or their performance. A team will not be inspired if you use fear as a motivator. As their leader I coach and teach my team -- they are right there with them -- not on the sidelines screaming and instilling fear. If my Agent is having issue/difficulties at his/her task, I always do coaching for them and ask them, hear them out and give them advise and tips on how they can cope up with their task. A leader involves being there for your team. If my team have a question or need my advice, I make sure that I make it easy for them to access me. By messaging me thru social media. Texting or calling me on my personal cell phones, there is no reason my team shouldn’t be able to get in touch with me when they need to. And lastly, after a long working hours a stressful days, weeks, we see to it that we still have time to go out, unwind, eat a lot and enjoy each others company. A leader is not going to have the answer for everything, and that is perfectly fine. Instead of pretending to have the answer, I see to it that I always listen to their opinions and suggestions then share my point of view. With that we always create a more effective solutions.

The Philippine government to show support and encourage this “offshoring” business activity created incentives for them through PEZA. What is PEZA? PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority)was established to encourage foreign investment into the country. This government agency aids in the registration of foreign businesses and grants them incentives when they operate their business inside PEZA Special Economic Zones, which are selected areas throughout the country proclaimed by the President of the Philippines. Industries in the export-oriented manufacturing and service facilities industry can benefit most fromPEZA’sincentives. To obtain tax breaks and incentives offered by PEZA, an enterprise must register with PEZA and locate their operation in one of the PEZA zones, buildings, IT Parks, or Technology Parks. PEZA registrants must generally be export-oriented. Full foreign ownership of a PEZA enterprise is allowed, provided they are not engaged in activities that appear on theForeign Investment Negative List. PEZA approval and specific incentives granted are on a case by case basis. PEZA extendsVisa Facilitation Assistanceto foreign nationals and their spouses and dependents. Christmas in the Philippines

The Philippines is the only country in the entire world that celebrates Christmas season the longest. As soon as the first month ending in “-ber” roll in, everyone gets into the holiday spirit. At the beginning of September, you’ll start hearing Christmas carols being played on the radio in shopping malls. The much-awaited lighting of the Ayala Avenue in Makati City is happening November 3 (Thursday)! ▲STAINED GLASS DÉCOR. The lights in colors blue and purple illuminate the damp street when the rain poured. Every year, people in Makati await the signal of the Christmas season with the ceremonial lighting along Ayala Avenue. This 2016, the Christmas-themed lights appear once again on November 3 (Thursday) at 5:30 pm along Paseo de Roxas and Ayala Avenue. ▲CLOSER LOOK. Marshals guide vehicles passing through Ayala Avenue For this year, the decorations will show stained glass décor with images of The Nativity. The ceremony started at the Tower & Exchange Plaza fountain area, at Ayala Triangle. Various spectators witnessed the ceremonial lighting and brought out their cameras to capture the blue and purple themed lights which will light Ayala Avenue for the rest of the Christmas season. What I do in my team?!

BPO is one of the top and largest industry here in the Philippines. Working in BPO is a big challenge and staying in this industry is not that easy as you think. What is a team? Google said it's a group of players forming one side in a competitive game or sports. It's very easy to define, right? But what makes a TEAM a DREAM TEAM? A GREAT, EXCEPTIONAL and A SUCCESSFUL TEAM? Here's a secret... (But I bet won’t be a secret anymore after you read this!) It's the people of the team. As a leader, you’ve got to have that ability to see your people's potential and once you see that potential, you work hard to develop it. You might be thinking, how do I do that? That potential kind of thing? For me? It's simple. First of all, as a leader, you should be the role model. You can’t be like "I’m the boss, its okay for me to this, I’m the boss anyways, I know what's right, I am right, and you obey me" relationship. I work hard to know my members. One or two or many of the things I do is that I talk to them, we hang out, I share jokes and even my shortcomings sometimes with them. I get to know the things they like and things they hate which help me personalize the approach I should take when dealing with each of them. I consider them my friends and not just a colleague that may disappear after sometime. Even though she has a busy schedule taking care of her kids. She always makes sure that it will not affect her performance during working days. In fact, she also received various awards and certificates for her exceptional performance. The major key for this success is her dedication to work and love for her family. § Rhon Robby, Anime and Techie Enthusiast. § By the way he is the youngest member of the group. He has been with the company for more than 2 years supporting different accounts like HTC ANZ (Phone, Email and Chat), EMQ and HERE ANZ. As a Technical Support Specialist, he always makes sure to learn new things to help customers solve their problems. Aside from being reliable to his responsibilities, he does not have any attendance problems which gave him awards. Every weekend he watches Anime series and play computer games to relax himself. The biggest lesson that he learned from one of his favorite Anime which is "One Punch Man" is that you have to be confident and be yourself. ~ Deepavali – The Festival of Lights ~ Festival Date –29th October 2016 § Author: Thanalakshmi Balakrishnan (Thana)|Telexpress Johor Bahru Centre|HR Department § Deepavali is also known as Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. Light is significant in Hinduism because it signifies goodness. So, during the Festival of Lights, 'deeps', or oil lamps are burned throughout the day and into the night to ward off darkness and evil. ▲Diwali is celebrated on the last day of the last month of lunar calendar. There are various alleged origins attributed to this festival. Some hold that they celebrate the marriage ofLakshmiwith Lord Vishnu. In Bengal, the festival is dedicated to the worship of Kali. It also commemorates that blessed day on which the triumphant Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana. On this day also Sri Krishna killed the demon Narakasura. In Malaysia, it is celebrated as the day the evil Narakasura was slain by Lord Krishna. The triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The mood starts a month beforehand with the preparation of the various array of Indian cookies such asmurukku,ommapadi,chippi,atharasum,nei orundeiand the wall breakerkallu orundei. ▲Various Deepavali Cookies and Indian Sweets Of course, there is the inevitable shopping and work to be done that requires everything to be new and clean, from curtains to clothes for family members. Normally on Deepavali eve, offerings and prayers are made to ancestors and deceased family members. After this ceremony, the women are busy in the kitchen while the rest of the family does the house by hanging new curtains, placing new curtains and draws ‘Kolams”at our doorsteps to welcome Laxmi, the goddess of prosperity. Getting up early before sunrise, oil is applied on heads and a bath is taken. This ritual oil bath is known as "ganga-snanam" and is done to cleanse one of the impurities of the past year. Prayers are held at the family altar, after which the family gathers before the elders to receive their blessings. Then the guests come by and food cooked is prepared "halal" so as to be served to Malay Muslims. Here again, the concept of open house is seen and an intermingling of friends of different races come by to greet a Happy Deepavali. It also is a great opportunity to dig in on some delicious Indian curry and cookies. Most Malaysian Indians are South Indian Hindus in origin. Here, even though Deepavali is known as the festival of lights, there are no oil lamps being lit. Rather it is usually done on another religious festival called Karthika Villaku which comes about a month later. The happiest celebrants are, of course, the children who collect gleefully the yellow packets with money in them - an adaptation of the Chinese redang powpackets. Celebrants try to squeeze the month-long festivities into one day of public holiday and four to five days of leave from work. ▲Children gets blessing from the elders in the family
